武林之首大风堂公子赵无忌（狄龙 饰）大婚当日，专事研制奇门暗器的蜀中唐门一行人登堂入室，居然当众拿出黄金十万两求购大风堂当家赵简人头。当夜赵简惨死，二当家上官刃（谷峰 饰）携其人头投奔唐门。背负杀父之仇的赵无忌赴唐家堡寻仇，出发前获知唐家堡内有代号“西施”的大风堂卧底，而上官刃带走的白玉老虎中亦隐藏一件大风堂的秘事。赵无忌于路遭唐门少爷唐玉（尔冬升 饰）的多次截杀，幸有故交独孤城（徐少强 饰）、马车异人等江湖人士相助脱险。唐玉伪装成独孤城之弟接近赵无忌，不料却被赵无忌施计反制杀死，赵无忌化身唐玉好友送尸入唐门，获得了唐家大少唐缺（罗烈 饰）信任，然而此地步步险境，赵无忌将如何自处？
